One of our little corners just was freshened up with Johanna's first finished embroidery.
Her first project she tackled (with a little help here and there) was a simple face I traced onto fabric in her embroidery basket.
She learned how to do a real backstitch--and quite beautifully I might add--on her little face. (I did the filler stitch for her for the yellow hair.) She decided each color she used and the thickness of each stitch. She worked so carefully on it--it was wonderful to watch.
It was very much her embroidery project.
Isn't it lovely?
