This adorable car fabric (Kokka Japan Little Cars) has sat on my sewing counter, among the piles, for months now. I thought I would get it just in case when I knew we were expecting. I've never done anything like that before, but I figured I would just wait and see...
With yesterday's news, I sneaked downstairs with Annabelle to see what we could do in an hour for a little boy.
You've seen this favorite bucket around--my living room, our hair tote, and now something that has boy written all over it. It is the nesting burlap bucket--a PDF you can buy online and reuse over and over again.
Halfway through when I realized that the cars would end up sideways, I recut the piece, adding some length to it. Now the cars are driving right-side up, thankfully.
The bucket is empty, of course. It just sits on the counter right now reminding me from time to time that we really are having a boy. Someday the bucket will hold some of our baby favorites: [amazon_link id="0307200477" target="_blank" ]Pat the Bunny[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id="B000IDSLOG" target="_blank" ]Sophie the giraffe[/amazon_link] a rattle or two, and some burp cloths.
I can definitely say this is the first thing I've ever made with wheels on it. Welcome to a new world, Mama...
