simple s'mores

S'mores are already pretty simple.  We enjoyed them with the girls and some friends this weekend.  It is the first time our family has had our own fire in the backyard.  I've alway thought fire pits were expensive and complicated, but we learned this year it isn't so.  We found the simplest and cheapest fire pit [amazon_link id="B0017K24JM" target="_blank" ]here[/amazon_link], put a few slate slabs and pavers gravel under it, and have become a real roasting, nights-by-the-fire family!

I found some cardboard decorative organizing boxes in the $1 bin at Target at the beginning of the summer to use as summer eating boxes with a bit of parchment paper tucked inside.  Ainsleigh and Annabelle helped me put the marshmallows, grahams, and halved Hershey bars in them for s'mores.  With everything, including a citronella candle and skewers on a tray, we could move the s'more station down by the fire when we were ready.

Simple s'mores.

{The twins experiencing s'mores for the first time.  Talk about a thrill!}

{A wee one, Cameron, was there to watch.}

{And still, some preferred s'mores eaten piece by piece.}

I'm excited to share a super cool project for the home, organization, and aesthetics with you tomorrow.  See you back then!
