Good morning to you! I'd be lying if I told you this hadn't been a completely miserable week, and still continues to be with sickness abounding and healthy ones now turning sick. I could write a whole post on the range of emotions I've been through this week but opted out of it for something a bit more bright and hopeful, like an outdoor blanket.
I love this blanket. (Although it remains miles away at a park's lost and found since last September!) I love that it is not bulky and ties up easily to throw in the car or stroller.
I originally made it from Handmade Home: Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures, piecing old fabrics I had been given from my Granny.
But really though, I am not a patient quilter, so modified the blanket concept and made one just by using one piece for the front and one piece of fabric for the back. No batting necessary and finished off with contrasting bias tape.
See my tutorial here.
Hope you have plans outdoors this weekend. I'll be dreaming of the same.
Remember, if you didn't stop by yesterday to see the wonderful photos of the children receiving your boxes in Japan, do so.
