exploring: jamestown

{enjoying family across the James River}

{And staying with family who have lots of animals}

It was quite the weekend for exploring.  If you are somewhat local (we live 5 hours away), Jamestown offers the Powhatan village, Jamestown Settlement ships, and the James Fort.  I grew up very close to Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg (in Gloucester, Va.) and have loved sharing these special places with my eager girls.  They are pretty much obsessed with all things colonial.  If Boston is ever mentioned in conversation, Ainsleigh and Annabelle start talking about boxes of tea being dumped in the river.  And Caroline and Johanna regularly surrender to each other, one being General Cornwallis, the other being General George Washington.

Upcoming exploring ventures:

Philadelphia, PA

Palmyra, NY and upstate NY/Canadian border (hopefully!)

Hoping to explore:

Boston, MA

We're happy to be home and out of the car.  Isn't it amazing how long trips take with all of the extra stops along the way?  Today we're catching up on watering the garden, running to swimming lessons, and working on potty training... again.

Happy Monday!
